Hugpile meme!

We all love our characters, even if we sometimes take a great deal of glee in dropping small mountains on them. Thus this meme, where they can hugpile and cuddle to their hearts' content.

You are in a vast room that seems somehow familiar to anyone who was around for the slumber party. Things that happen over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments are available - energy drinks, Livian's candy, Roy's popcorn, and whatever else you'd like to dream up. There are even some cuddly toys left over from the slumber party ~~and the octopus is still here~~.

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and snuggling up in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also snuggle in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a ~~katamari ball~~ quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Pajama Cuddle Party! Whooohoo! \o/

[Ram is all the gleeful about this meme, especially with his vanishing act coming up soon. He's claimed a portion of the floor and done something sneaky - it's a giant, bouncy, fluffy trampoline-thing. A little hard to keep the popcorn from bouncing out of the bowls, though, so they're on the mat that's still firm. Have one hyper infiltrator acting like a kangaroo in baggy pajamas and bare feet.]

[He tried to drag Tron out of ficspace for this, but the fuddy-duddy said he'd rather stay home with Yori for a private cuddleparty. Hmph.]

[Well, it's certainly nice to get out of the headspace and socialise. Dumont's claimed a spot lazing in the blanket nest like the big ol' cat he is, nice and close to the warmth-emitters. His tail seems to attract Bits with the little sparks of static energy it gives off; Bitty's wandered over here from Ram's corner.]

[Wulf's sitting on a low cushion with a tablet in his hand, getting some last-minute research done because what is relaxing.]

[Kade has flopped down on a large pillow in the middle of the room, a glass of refined energy in his hand.]

[Anon has rounded up a selection of snacks and some nice big comfy cushions for security program and their friends/family. (Given the number of connections that Anon and Tron have, this pretty much means everybody.)

At the moment, Anon is lounging on his back on a big black cushion , enjoying the ability to just relax for a change.]

[An entire section of the room is taken up by a large -- no, scratch that -- a massive pool filled with pure, untainted energy and five giant...things. Their sleek, streamlined bodies measure roughly twenty feet in length, tiny compared to the User world animals their creator based them on, but definitely larger than anything native to the Grid. They glide through the water with a surprising amount of grace, given their size, whistling and clicking at each other in a form of binary that passes for communication, their attention confined to their watery world.

The same cannot be said for the tiny white creature that shares their pool. Though the little five foot long critter seems to follow the same body design, its head is altogether much shorter and rounder than that of its fellows. While it does occasionally dart off to interact with the bigger creatures it keeps returning to the edge of the pool and sticking its head out of the water, clicking and squealing at whatever program comes close enough to catch its eye.]

[Drive is still feeling a little woozy from his recent emergency trip to the recompilers. He is not use to running at full capacity again, and has opted to camp out in the pile of blankets and pillows, Alpha and Beta his ever present companions. The Utility yawns and pulls the blanket he is using a little tighter, mindful of Beta, who is nestled in the crook of his neck. Neither of the Bits have left him alone for longer than a few seconds but he can forgive them. He did give them a pretty bad scare, after all.]

[He had no idea why he was here, and facing a room full of so many non orange and red circuits has made him a bit more skittish then normal. So of course the answer to that is just to find a corner relatively unnoticed by the rest, and stock pile enough of the soft projectiles in easy reach as a just in case. There was even a debate to change from the orange he had taken to a more neutral color as well to keep attention at bay.

Nah, he has a feeling if someone bothers him they'd do so anyways regardless of his circuit color.]

[ Clu's not sure about these strange, inanimate soft things. They seem to keep multiplying ~~like tribbles~~ and now there's a ton of black, or yellow colored plush cats covering his throne.

Hm. Just...clearing these things off to sit down. Except that one with the orange spots. That plushie is getting examined for uh...structural integrity. Yeah. That's the ticket. ]

[ Building a fort out of blankets, chairs, and adding some string in places to make sure certain height requirements are met, Jabraxas has built a very cool fort over here.

Come join him ( unless you're an unfamiliar Flynn-face ) in this architectural marvel.

[It's nice to have a shift or two off from the EoL. Ossa's found a nice spot in the pillows to sit and have a drink with her coworkers and some of these tasty snacks, yes. And if it's somewhere nearby the security pile and that helmeted program with the great shoulders, who's complaining?

She's not sure why Kato preferred to go take a nap over there instead, but the program he's using as a pillow is kinda cute. Good for him.]

[Kip's kinda gravitated out to the edge of the throng. Large groups don't bother him, but this is a whole lot of strange programs and a whole lot of noise, so he's settled on a couch and settled for shyly watching everyone interact.

The young one, wandering away from the herd, out in the open, with Team Orange lurking about.

It's probably a good thing the room is anti-violence, or this would turn into a Discovery Channel special.]

[For once, the emcee is off-duty.

Can't stop him from strolling through the Vast Room, though, beaming at the crowd of happy people. Some things never change. But Eckert's not in charge of this event, and therefore it follows that for once, he doesn't have to be completely professional.

[Well, this is a nice change from the quarantine bunker. ~~And a temporary reprieve from virus-dom til it becomes permanent in game, but shh...~~

Still, despite the knowledge that everyone is rendered harmless in this room, and knowing about the weird reverse Grid he'd been landed in, he's still can't help being somewhat suspicious of all the blue he sees in programs' circuits around here. Hence the rather impressive pillow and blanket fort he's constructed to watch the goings-on from, one that's well stocked with plush projectiles in case any unwanted visitors show up.

He's dressed in a simple, unarmored gray gridsuit with his hooded cape overtop, and by now is rather comfortably nestled in a pile of plush and pillows with a small supply of that solid-form energy they'd originally supplied him with during his captivity.

Yep, definitely better than the bunker.]

[Hey, look, there's an Alan here. He's sitting off to one side a little on something that looks like a sofa . . . except it's twice as wide, twice as long, heavily padded, and just supported enough to be extremely comfortable. There are multi-colored pillows all around.

[The sofa is just far enough away that Rinzlers might feel welcome, should they be in need of hugs. All others are just as welcome, even if they don't officially know the older User in white.

[Oh, and he has the biggest bowl of popcorn ever.]

[this is the worst meme and there is no frowny face adequate to express Tesler's disgust.

not that he'd show it, of course. he's outnumbered and most of the rebels and sympathizers and glitches present seem to be enjoying themselves. so Tesler will just be slouched over here in his cushiony high seat, overseeing the whole sorry mess with a genially serpentine smile and pretending he planned the whole thing.]

Elnoi had claimed a quiet corner and a few of the firmer cushions for sitting on early in the proceedings, making a nice little haven for the musically inclined, those who like to play and those who like to listen.

She was settled cross-legged on a cushion herself, her instrument in her lap, playing a lullaby of her own composition, quiet and looping, the sound not spreading much further than the ring of cushions around her.

[Having finally worn herself out running around dishing out surprise hug attacks to her friends, Eden has settled down in one of the smaller pillow pits to observe the party from a nice comfy spot. A ring of plushies lines the perimeter of the pit like ineffective guards, and there is a pile of blankets set to one side for anyone who wants one. While she is no longer actively seeking out programs the little ISO is not at all opposed to company, should anyone want to join her. Just don't be surprised if she ends up falling asleep on you for a bit.]

[Nothing like a party to introduce a new creation to the populace. Fox has commandeered an area near the swimming pool and set up several prototypes of the as-of-yet unnamed pools that are filled with warm, bubbling energy for trial runs to gauge their popularity. Depending on the feedback he will either add them to his eventual hotel or go back to the drawing board. He himself is of course on hand for anyone who has any questions, having claimed a spot in one of them where he is currently lounging.]

[Hey everyone. Have a whiskery-faced User in red flannel PJs, a slightly worn-looking dark-blue bathrobe, and some comfy slippers walking around, just observing everything for now, and smiling a bit at all the happy ~~babbies~~ programs he sees. Yes, this room was a very good idea indeed.]

[Towards the room on the other side where nobody goes sits cross legged a slightly confused and entirely annoyed tall purple figure. It’s David looking around and seeing bizarre interactions not concerning him.]

[He’s not coming out. And he’s relatively unseen in the bunker of large pillows around him. If he comes out it means he’ll have to apologise to everyone of who he sees outside it.

Some though he’d rather not see at all.

Plus he’s rather comfortable in there.]

[0rca is fashionably late to the party, but he finds a good spot towards the center of the room and built up a house of pillows and sheets. He curls up in the center of his pillow house, rolling up snuggled in a blanket]

[ Near the middle of the room, or wherever you would like, is a program who has just finished building a small little bed out of a few stacks of pillows all lined up in a row. Mind you, it took a lot of work (a minute tops, but he hunted for what looked like the fluffier pillows out of the huge pile of them lying around), so be sure not to mess it up for him! He's had a very long day, so the relaxation is very well welcomed.

Beck hops on top of the bed of pillows with a sigh, and folds his arms behind his head. Oooh yes, now this is a break! ]
