Hugpile meme!

We all love our characters, even if we sometimes take a great deal of glee in dropping small mountains on them. Thus this meme, where they can hugpile and cuddle to their hearts' content.

You are in a vast room that seems somehow familiar to anyone who was around for the slumber party. Things that happen over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments are available - energy drinks, Livian's candy, Roy's popcorn, and whatever else you'd like to dream up. There are even some cuddly toys left over from the slumber party and the octopus is still here.

~Rules!~ (shamelessly stolen from the sleepover meme)

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and snuggling up in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also snuggle in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a katamari ball quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

No pressure. This meme isn't expiring any time soon. Feel free to take your time!

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Other than that, HAVE FUN! |D

Yes, actually. I think I scared a poor beta or two, but it was fun.

[Alas, that would have been an upgrade she could have used. Maybe things would have turned out differently if she had.]

It's a pity that it would be a little superfluous now. Guarding was a secondary function for me, and the Towers aren't connected, I don't think.

Ah, but I believe the reconstruction program Fire just brought a tower back online. She claims it waits for me. [A prideful little smile.] I'm sure the system will find a use for it, in time. One adapts to changes as they come by the will of the Users.

[Looks down at her, sensing a measure of regret perhaps, or melancholy. What has she been doing since that time?]

You seem...directionless, Trace; is there anything I can offer that would help?

Maybe I'll visit, then. Especially if you ever decide to scare the populace and take a break.

[She helps the preening along with a little scritching.]

I'm not sure... I spent hundreds of cycles fighting, only to come here and have it all over. I can't go back to doing what I did.. and the future is full of questions I'm not sure how to ask.

I'll think of something eventually, though. I have before.

[Mmm, scritches. The resultant tail-flick of pleasure sends the bits into a squeaking tizzy. He rumbles thoughtfully, shifting his frame to settle his joints.]

If memory serves, you were a designer before the MCP, weren't you, compiling real-world items in your User's digitization experiments? Hmn, perhaps that was my world's Yori. She visited me a great deal in the early days, always excited to show me the new schematics and objects she was creating. [Reminiscence is a thing with him. Just a suggestive nudge, considering the muns were speaking of this a while back.]

A little more specialized than that, but something like.

[She did still have design functionality, even if the translation-and-compilation parts of her were shot. It had even been fun, to thumb her nose at the MCP and try to create beauty where there was none. She never did get around to experimenting much with pushing the Grid's code, the aesthetics so alien and herself always so busy...

She does see what you did there, Dumont, and tugs his tail just a bit.]

I'm sure the system has plenty of designers without me being terribly amateur.

[He smiles, unrepentantly smug. Have a rumbling huff and a tiny static-zap to her fingers, his disagreement with the girl's self-doubt.]

Nonsense, nonsense. Every system needs beauty in it, of all sorts. Some build magnificent buildings and excitable vehicles, yes, but the insides seem as low-resolution and bland as when the MCP was in charge. They need a hand that knows the ways of making things liveable.

[A brief form-shift to bring more leonine features to his face, just so he can nudge you with his nose.]

Do not doubt yourself so readily, Trace, or I shall sit on you and persuade you of the error in your logic processors. [A teasing smirk from once-more-humanoid features.]

[She huffs but at least she's smiling.]

Pest.

Maybe I should redecorate your tower as a test run.

[Oh, she missed you, Dumont. You're getting lots of bothering when you show up regardless.]

[Chortles.]

I welcome a bit of colour, my dear. The tower chambers were always far too simplistic for my liking.

[Just because he likes his function doesn't mean he wouldn't change a few small details.]

I hear the young updater Kip is looking for a designer. I'm sure he would not mind being your...ah...'Guinea Pig', I believe is the User term.

Yes, yes. Go be social, Trace. I know.

Well.. I suppose if he's willing to be my hapless test subject, I could give it a try. Once I meet him.

That's my Yori.

[Preens a little at having gotten his message across, then tugs her in with a furry paw and snugs her to his armored chest. She can go poke the beta later.]
