Hugpile meme!

We all love our characters, even if we sometimes take a great deal of glee in dropping small mountains on them. Thus this meme, where they can hugpile and cuddle to their hearts' content.

You are in a vast room that seems somehow familiar to anyone who was around for the slumber party. Things that happen over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments are available - energy drinks, Livian's candy, Roy's popcorn, and whatever else you'd like to dream up. There are even some cuddly toys left over from the slumber party and the octopus is still here.

~Rules!~ (shamelessly stolen from the sleepover meme)

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and snuggling up in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also snuggle in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a katamari ball quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

No pressure. This meme isn't expiring any time soon. Feel free to take your time!

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Other than that, HAVE FUN! |D

[The use of his name carries a timid sound that draws the Guardian's attention from the Bits at play, and he twists his head to source the speaker. To find a truly familiar face is a shock; that it is Echo he faces is a miracle, as Dumont had lost track of her in the cycles of the MCP's madness. Dumont's personal timeline is already shifting, he can feel it in his code, but here and now he has not yet seen the MCP's downfall, and so her presence is a very welcome surprise.]

Echo? [The name is almost lost in the rumbling, astonished quality of his voice, the big cat already half-rising to his paws.] Echo, my dear, is that you?

[His movements finally snap Echo out of her trance. Blinking several times in rapid sequence she shakes her head, trying to sort out her jumbled processor. Seeing him again has awakened memories of another time, of another life. She gives him the vaguest hint of a smile and hesitantly steps forward to meet him halfway.]

Parts of me, at least.

[He's risen fully by the time she steps forward, and now settles back on his haunches, a rich purr rumbling from his circulators. He may loom over her a little bit in this posture, but it's all the better to lift a paw and offer the enfolding warmth of a hug against that great, furry chest, should she choose to close the gap.]

[Warm, mildly amused] You've never been shy before, little one. No hug for an old program like myself?

[Her lips twitch at the remark, the smile becoming a bit more real as she steps into the offered hug. At first she is awkward and stiff, having to recall exactly how hugs work. Gradually however she relaxes against him, her fingers gently combing through his warm fur. She closes her eyes as a memory file surges to the front of her processor, a memory saturated with sadness and longing. The memory of her first meeting with him that night after the MCP's guards had released her and she had run to his I/O tower trying to seek help from the Users to free Sabre.]

I didn't know that you were here or I would have found you sooner...

[Oh Echo. Dumont doesn't know what befell you since he saw you last, but he is at least well-able to re-teach you this. His massive, furry arm tucks around her smaller frame, snugging the medic close against his chest (while being mindful of the less comfortable spots of armor, always important.) All the while, his sensor-inlaid fur streams data, soothing low transmissions of /comfort-fondness-happiness.]

Well, I admit that for a large program, I can in my own right be quite stealthy when I wish to be. [The gentle tease carries humor as well as concern for her subdued nature.]
