Hugpile meme!

We all love our characters, even if we sometimes take a great deal of glee in dropping small mountains on them. Thus this meme, where they can hugpile and cuddle to their hearts' content.

You are in a vast room that seems somehow familiar to anyone who was around for the slumber party. Things that happen over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments are available - energy drinks, Livian's candy, Roy's popcorn, and whatever else you'd like to dream up. There are even some cuddly toys left over from the slumber party and the octopus is still here.

~Rules!~ (shamelessly stolen from the sleepover meme)

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and snuggling up in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also snuggle in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a katamari ball quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

No pressure. This meme isn't expiring any time soon. Feel free to take your time!

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Other than that, HAVE FUN! |D

[Fire flops down against Sphinx!Dumont and practically purrs, then chuckles at the Bit.]

Mmmm, you're comfy. And that is adorable.

[Chuckles fondly and bats the Bit away with a twitch of his tail, watching it [yes!] its way through the arc and roll back along the floor in short bursts, hesitating whenever Dumont shifts. How cute, it's stalking him.]

I do miss the little ones. They haven't visited me at all since the MCP took over. It'll be good to get back on-Grid where they're flourishing.

[Folds a massive paw over the other and stretches out just a bit more, curling warmly around his new companion.]

[She snuggles closer into Dumont's fur and closes her eyes contentedly.]

There are plenty of Bits around. They seem to accumulate, somehow. Oh! There's a Byte, too.

Yes, I had heard about that. I hear a lot of things prowling around the data-lines. [Studies the program using him as a pillow with languid curiosity.] You're Fire, aren't you? Britt's been rather vocal.
firefixit: (Hey there)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-22 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[A warm smile appears on Fire's face at the mention of Britt.]

That's me. I saw Britt cuddled up with Kato over by Drive – I didn't want to disturb them. Looks like Kato needs his sleep.

[She feels sorry for Britt when he has to leave here. Poor program will be away from Kato again and still celibate.]

Did he tell you that there's an I/O tower waiting for you when you get here?

Mm, yes, those boys. I should rather like to be on-grid when they find each-other, but I suppose I would be somewhat conspicuous in the End of Line. [He chuckles richly.] I shall just have to content myself with observing from here.

[He glances at her with a warm smile and nods. Actually, it was Kip who brought the news first, but an excitable beta is hard to understand on the best of days.]

He did indeed, m'dear. Thank you for bringing it back online. I look forward to being able to use all my functions again.
firefixit: (Hey there)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. If they find each oher at the block party, they won't be in the End of Line, will they? I think the streets are big enough even for a program your size.

[She chuckles at the image of the party going on around Sphinx!Dumont. It's a nice image.]

You're welcome. It's a nice feeling when the things I repair get used - it makes me feel like I'm doing my job right.

[Huh. He'd forgotten that it would be outside the building. A thoughtful headtilt and abashed chuckle.]
I suppose it would be at that. Well, well. I shall have to redouble my efforts to attend.
firefixit: (Happy)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. Then I can meet you officially.

Anyway, you won't be the only big program there. I'm sure at least one of our Jalens will attend - I think one of them designed the rebuilt Archives, so he'll almost certainly be there.

[Chuckles again]

There's a bit of a difference between a tall program and a program like myself, little one. I don't think your Grid has experience seeing non-humanoid units. [A musing rumble.] I should like to meet a Jalen, or Jabraxas, as it may happen. Bad luck all around with the viral business, but it's good that they're being helped.
firefixit: (Happy)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe not ones as big as you, but non-humanoids aren't as strange as you might think. We had a Rinzler in the form of something that he called a 'kitten' a while ago, and a puppy Ram. I actually met Rinz. [Another smile.]

The Free Grid is an adaptable place. I think you'll be okay.

[personal profile] relicguard 2013-02-23 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Rinzler? I'm not familiar with that name...but Ram, hm? I remember a Ram - little rascal of a beta, always bouncing around asking questions. Didn't stay in-system for long; I've always wondered what happened to him after he left.

[Have a grateful rumble, Fire, and a massive paw gently patting you on the shoulder. Very gently. Your encouragements are code-warming to an old guardian like him.]
firefixit: (Hey there)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-24 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[She instinctively tilts her head towards the giant paw patting her shoulder, rubbing her cheek along Dumont's fur.] I don't know what happened to him, really. Or to them. Though there's at least two on the Grid, so you might get to meet him again.

As for Rinzler . . . he's what Tron was made into when Clu rectified him. We've got several in varying stages of recovery.

[personal profile] relicguard 2013-02-24 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fire gets a troubled frown at that. 'Rectify' means 'to correct a mistake'. He's not up on current Grid history, but this sounds awfully fishy - and not in a good way. The system seems determined to endlessly test the young system monitor beyond his limits.]

Hrmrrr. [half a sigh, half a rumbling growl.] The quality of admins has gone down since I was compiled, I must say.
firefixit: (Neutral)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-03-01 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm. [Fire makes a dissatisfied noise, and she reaches up to scratch his neck fur.]

That's too depressing a thought for here. Do you mind if I fall asleep on you for a while?

[personal profile] relicguard 2013-03-02 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[A rumbling purr at the fingers in his ruff, just under his armour, he shakes his head lightly, tucking his paws up under his chest and settling into the blankets.]

I don't mind. I'm quite used to betas falling asleep on me.

[Not that Fire is a beta. Still, he lets her drift off to the gentle white-noise of his cooling system rumbling in his chest.]
