February Plot-With Me Post
Now that we know who’s around, what the event is, and what the game looks like for now, everybody get in here and plot!
Grid_lined plot-with-me posts will happen monthly from now on, and will replace the monthly plotplurk memes that folks have been using (since it’s difficult to find them again or keep track of so many different plurks). You can plot specifically for the storm event in that post or here, but this post is for February plots in general.

Ram has been epically busy for the past week or so in-game, as Stats and Analysis interpreted the power-fluctuation data leading up to the big storm. He would have delivered reports to whoever needed weather-report data, indicating that something big was on the horizon, so the storm wouldn't have hit the Grid entirely unexpectedly.
Eckert, besides ordering extra energy allotments in case of traffic disruptions, is business as usual, keeping his staff safe during the storm, and what he does after the storm will depend on what happens during it.
Allon would like to hunker down and wait the weather out with Cantus and 0rca, but would go out if needed to get supplies (and run into people). The rest of the month will probably involve dancing and more socializing than before.
Wulf will, as I mentioned, reenter the game some time this week. In the meantime, he's at his clinic
and waiting for that recompiler hugpile that keeps getting mentioned >>~~.no subject

She's returned to Tron City from her regular Outlands weather-outpost patrol, and will be visiting Comms, Security, and other people who need to know what to expect with all this weather. She doesn't know everything, but has been watching the skies for thousands of cycles and knows a lot.
When the event is over, she'll be staying in the City for some time. She'll still be reticent, but is willing to interact.

if it even matters XD.The shop will primarily focus on lightcycles, as that's what 0rca knows best, but he can tackle lightjets and will even attempt boats
but if it sinks it's totally not his fault.0rca is also up for shenanigans regarding modifications. He likes a challenge, so come plot with me and we can think of ways that maybe that lightcycle shouldn't go that fast or why are the controls on the underside of the lightjet (oops!) ^^

/slides over bag of cats
I would be interested in Tron starting up (small) self-defense classes for any of the other PCs again-- consider this me gauging interest level so we can plot next month. Also, given the wild skillsets and Tron's new status as an independent operator, anyone who wants to team up and form an irregular unit is someone I would like to bother. PC only because I am done with trying to puppet NPC teams.
Siren!Tron has been seeing to clients and so forth and quietly plotting a surprise party for Eckert. He will likely be at the End of Line tower during the storm for anybody who is lonely and/or afraid of storms and/or stuck and/or has an appointment. Post-storm plotting will probably have to wait until after the storm because reasons.
I'll get back to people on Trace.
/lets allll the cats out and fluffs them dry<3
Might even get more of them onscreen.....Should he show up at the End of Line, Eckert would sit him down for a drink and be a listening ear if he wanted. And may take him up on the self-defense classes, actually. Eckert has some self-defense capability, but is not a trained fighter. Are private lessons an option?
Going to put up a character-day-job post in a day or two so people can start planning stuff like characters having routine patrols together, as well as stuff like "taking clients"/"is one of those clients".
Allon, meanwhile, is hoping for more dance time with Siren, and, along with Ram, would like to meet Trace some time if she stays around. Eckert has noticed something is up with Siren and is impressed that he hasn't managed to figure out what it is yet.~~~ And Ram would like a chance to drop in and say hi.

Rainstorm character locations
infiniteviking's Ko has been sending messages to Comms and has been in contact with Britt. Comms is sending out storm warnings, various weather/situation reports, and safety advice on a regular basis, and has fortified their transmissions so that there is minimal disruption. However, this doesn't mean receivers around the city are as well-protected, so there may be comms blackouts in the outer sectors, as an option for drama.
Kip meanwhile has a shelter station set up in the lobby of his office building for emergency services and for programs who have been temporarily displaced, and is providing warm, if simple, energy rations and insulating blankets. Kip himself, unless I manage to tag him, is offscreen helping npcs in the same environment, along with Ram, who is having a hard time dealing with the lightning triggering some ptsd memory flashes and thus is trying to stay busy.
Kato and Ossa are at the End of Line offscreen helping npcs with whatever shelter/warmth/medical services are being provided there, as I'm sure there's something Eckert's set up.

Clu1 has been keeping busy, helping out security (in his own way), nudging various reluctant friends and relations out of their hidey-holes cause they need to get out more, and doing minor repairs to structures where he finds them, among other miscellaneous things. Storm wise, he'd have probably gotten wind that something was up and spend time checking his residence and those of his friends to make sure they're secure. Once he realizes how bad things are, though, he may be slipping out to try and help less hardy programs...
Cantus rocked out at the party, and can now finally focus on the other thing he's been planning, a 'civic pride' video compiled from clips of programs all over the Grid and set to music by Cantus himself. However, the storm will likely put a damper on that for the moment. For the duration of the storm, Cantus will likely be found either at home or in the EoL. In fact, he might just get stuck at the EoL and end up having to spend the night (not the most horrible fate, granted). Unless, of course, the storm catches him off guard in the street...
Cline will be making sure his fellow shop programs are safe and sound and battening down the hatches a bit as far as securing stock an whatnot. However, since he lives above the shop, he'll still be there and his doors will be open to any weary souls who might come stumbling in from the storm. Once things settle down, he'll probly be continuing his efforts to get out and about, visiting places like the park, the EoL, and the new archives.
Gibbs will find the crazy weather fascinating (because SCIENCE!) but only to a point. Otherwise, he'll likely be holed up in one of the larger shelters for the duration, and making it known that he's available there if anyone needs repaired or grandpaed on. Post-storm he'll be about on the Grid for further grandpa-ness and eventually will be helping fix both Ossa's memory glitch and Kato's accidentally hindering directive.
Radia will be waiting out the storm in her apartment under Clu1's advice, but once things are cleared up, she'll be going out to check on her fellow ISOs and make sure they all held up OK. Post storm, she'll be around more, though I'll probly be just tagging around with her at appropriate places, unless anyone else has anything they want to do with her?
no subject
Allon just hopes they know where Cantus is, if he's stuck at the club.~ (And that'll be a chance for Eckert to interact with him too.) I'm sure Comms will be collecting and distributing updates and messages to let people know their friends are safe. Knowing Radia is safe will mean a lot to Allon also.
Hmmmmm I think Ram might wander in to visit Cline. Maybe Ko as well. And any of my characters are up for being grandpaed on.~~~

She's helped get a recreation center up and running recently, which would have been a good open post if I'd ever managed to get my head around the games involved. Anyway, her schedule is fairly open in future except for all the parts Tron has reserved.
They're still living in Theta, but it's not that far a commute to wherever your character wants to run into her.
Her storm activities have yet to be decided, plotting very welcome. She might have been running around with weather preparations this week after the reports came in.
(And maybe plot with nice!Clu too? He's off-Grid most of the time but if you have an idea he can be dragged into it.)
no subject
During the storm, Ko would very much like to run into Yori and discuss the effects of Portal activity on the weather. What's Yori up to while Tron's out batprogramming? And Ram would like to know how their shelter's holding up? They surely know they can come stay with him if they ever need to.
It'd be interesting to get nice!Clu involved again. Maybe some kind of repair/storm-aftermath activity. Figuring out how frequent/infrequent/long/short his visits are and who he sees/what he does when here would be good.

Tron will most likely be trying to keep order in the chaos and/or trying to find the source of the glitch. Any Users might be nice to have in contact with him.
Tey may be out on unofficial rescue/assistance duty because that's what he does. :)
no subject
Since Roy's off-Grid at the moment, Gibbs is probably Tron's best bet in re: Users. The answers he wants are probably best accessible through the Codestream Nexus, if he can tie into any part of it from Tron City (since the Portal programs can't get reports through yet due to the heavy weather), but that might be difficult for him to read if he wasn't used to it. Ram's out on Team Rescue with dark!Tron, but will check in with admin!Tron when he can.
Hmm. Have any of my characters actually met Tey? If not, now's a good time. Toss him at Ko? Or any of my other active folks could tag in if he's going to have a post.

Gibson: will finally be getting intro'd for real in G_L! What manner of shenanigans he'll be about remain to be seen, but getting involved with Esme's New Bostrum is highly likely to be one of them.
Hurd: Is planning on asking Eckert if he'll have her back on board as a house bouncer/peacekeeper, as well as taking up dancing again.
ALL interactions with ANY characters are totally welcome! Got an idear? Let me know!

Allon needs to limpet onto Mama Giraffe and everyone needs to meet Gibson and Eckert and Wulf and Ram and especially Ko have stuff to talk to Hurd about and tl;dr ANYONE YOU POST WITH I WILL POUNCE ON.<3

fashionably late as usual.Echo here and her lovely K-9 companion Fail Dog are finally on the Grid, fresh from the modern day ENCOM servers. Both of them are currently sporting a number of injuries courtesy of
General Stretchyarms McMurderfaceTesler but spoiler: they won the fight. Echo is pretty grumpy about the Grid's idea of welcome wagons and weather conditions right now, but give her time to get Fail and herself patched up and out of the rain and she will stop calling everyone Dillingers.Eden is staying inside and out of the storm and theoretically out of trouble, but as soon as the rain stops she will be out and about again and ready to socialize. She's probably going to be bummed about big brother Anon leaving for a while but other than that she doesn't have much going on right now.
Fox, Jade and Lazuli are putting the finishing touches on the Waves so that the resort can finally be opened, so those three aren't really out and about very much, but if anyone wants to thread with them just let me know!
Dumont Storm Thread Plotting
If I can get my brain to cooperate and write this, Dumont will be appearing rather unobtrusively in the dark, defunct I/O tower in *coughcoughahem* sector. The one Kip rezzed into, and which Fire repaired. (mental note: look up where this wound up being.)
It's been decided that Ko will be the poor, hapless program to seek shelter from the storm and be the first to discover the Thing Lurking In The Dark. However, how will this occur? Plotting time!
Re: Dumont Storm Thread Plotting
- He's porting in from the time Sark tries to prise him free of his tower, as Tron and Yori escape. Up until now, he's been too deprived of energy to be more than a statue on a plinth, hanging on to the last scraps of his defense protocols to be unmovable. The logic probe + summoning as much power as he could combines with the Portal storm, and drags him through. Dumont is thus on high-alert, expecting attack, and may snarl at intruders more than be friendly.
- He's porting in from after he has been taken hostage by the MCP, a fragile humanoid shell, too low on power to be at full strength. The decompiler the MCP uses to absorb the guardians' functions is hijacked, and human!dumont is pulled through. The storm and the Grid's power supply restore his power levels, and he is able to take his larger form, but he falls asleep to conserve his energy. Woken by the intruder, and is mid-way between guard-the-tower-against-Sark mode and suspicious-prowling-predator curious.
- He's porting in from a post-movie Encom, at full power once again, and thinks the tower is just dim and empty because of the storm, and the Users must be doing something big to the system to affect the weather like this. He dozes off, is woken by the intruder, and goes to greet them, inadvertently prowling out of the dark and scaring the pixels off of them, to his bemusement.
As far as when he arrives, I think that the excess of lighting on Day 1 of the storm will provide enough juice to port him in. And then, depending on when Ko is in the area to take shelter, he's discovered, having spent the interim resting/hibernating/shut down or trying to figure out wtf is going on, depending on the scenario picked - but he's not stupid enough to go outside in this weather, so answers would have to wait for someone to come to him.

Backtag plotting: Party reunion, Britt and Kato
So, the original plan of the thread: Clu1 goes to fetch Britt to enjoy the party because workaholic, brings him there, yadda yadda meeting people, Kato spots him, accidentally breaks the music, suddenly appears in the crowd, and busts Britt's nose in a Jack Sparrow/Anna Maria moment of 'No, that one I deserved.' Then proceeds to yell at him, then cling and cry.
Point 1: Besides Clu1, who is necessary to get Britt there at the least, which characters want to be involved or witness to this, after so long since its original conception?
Point 2: I have a good deal of this already written, in a sense, in the form of the original thread which got scrapped due to required character retooling. However, some parts might need filler, as I don't want the kids immediately reuniting the minute Britt arrives. What happens with Britt between the time he arrives and the moment the music squeals to a halt? Does he meet anybody new? Does he do anything fun before the big moment?
Point 3: the moment of discovery is another debate. Does Britt overhear Kato's stage name and repeat it loudly, causing Kato to spot him? Or does Kato happen to look up and see him chatting, causing music feedback that catches Britt's attention? What if Britt never sees Kato, but is noticed, and doesn't realise it until he hears his name spoken behind him? Who sees who first?
And if that wasn't enough, what happens after, both directly and in the long run of the remaining party?
hoi vae. details, details. Tag in if you have opinions or ideas.

Eckert insists on witnessing the happy event. Just saying.<3
Ram is supposed to hang out with Clu for a tag or two at some point, but I don't know when. He might bump into Britt.
For Point 2: post a "Britt enjoying the crowd" tag, have the meeting in the next tag, and anyone who wants to interact with Britt before can hang a new thread off his pre-meeting tag.
For Point 3, that is very up to you. XD

For Britt, Clu, and Faux: fashion disaster plotting thread
Since it's my turn to tag Britt there, are we fine if I go ahead and write a wrap of them just distributing drinks and sitting down to talk?
And then we can hash out who posts first to open the fashion disaster stuff.
no subject
As to who should post first for new thread, character who wakes up first?
Pfff, I'm pretty sure Faux will be flat on his face in the morning and regretting his decision when he awakes (first decision for the win). Que awkward zombieman shoppings. Take advantage of it.
I wonder if wearing sunglasses in the grid is a good thing?(no subject)

Ossa's repair thread and consequences
Ossa's memory has been the biggest hurdle since her arrival, and it has been getting worse. Because her disk does not sync correctly due to an internal glitch in her code caused by going disk-less for much of Zuse's time at the EoL and his policies, she cannot always write temporary memory to permanent storage, causing her to forget names, places, and faces. Before now, this was kept in check by medics, but there was really nothing they could do to actually repair her.
Since Kato arrived at the EoL, he used his knowledge of creating medicinal energy blends to generate a mix for Ossa that has helped her remember more things for longer. However, this mix has also caused her to begin drifting off in daydreams or 'fugues' during work, as her systems lag trying to store so much in temporary memory.
(This, by the way, is mostly Kato's fault; most of his experience with recompiling has been on Isos a long time ago, first-aid on Basics from the colony, and mostly on himself and Britt's unique mix of code. Plus, with his directive conflicts latching onto more musical functions, it's harder to get it right. He's gotten lucky so far that he hasn't permanently damaged anyone. Even Kip didn't escape unscathed, even with Wulf stepping in; his air circulators still purr asthmatically when he overtaxes them. But this is a guilt-trip for another time.)
Eventually, which is where the repair thread will open, Ossa will completely freeze. Someone will find her and alert Eckert. Ossa will not remember him at first for a brief moment, because there's too much corruption. A User, Gibbs likely, will be called in to help.
The final diagnosis, which I'm sure nobody will like: Ossa's problem cannot be solved by a simple disk-replacement or code-editing at this point. If it had been done properly and early on, there may have been a way to fix everything with happy consequences. Now, the glitch is too ingrained in her primary code.
The only way to fix her now is for Gibbs, in User-world parlance, to do a rollback of the program in safe-mode to before the glitch developed. It will erase her databanks, but once supplied with a new disk and rebooted, Ossa will be able to remember and store memory properly. The downside is, essentially she will be a beta again, having to relearn everything and re-meet everyone she ever knew.
Knowing that such heavy code-tampering has been an issue in the past, consent is very important here. Ossa will be in sound-enough mind at this point to provide that consent, firmly and decisively, because she wants to be fixed. She knows that her friends and EoL family won't abandon her and will be there to help her recover and learn things anew. And, fortunately, while Gibbs is doing the roll-back, he will be able to recover some of her uncorrupted memory that he can re-load for her, so that she doesn't loose everything.
Ossa will wake up, her personality and attitude intact, completely accepting that the strangers around her are friends, and begin her life anew. Her reintroduction and reeducation to life on the Grid will happen mostly off-screen, as she fades into the background to be an NPC again, unless specifically asked for in a thread.
I do not know when this thread should take place, or if anyone besides Eckert, Kip-and/or-Kato, and Gibbs wants to take part, but please tag if you have a say to say.
Re: Ossa's repair thread and consequences
Though if someone would call Cline and let him know what's going on, that'd be great. He's Ossa's friend too, and would want to know if something major like this happened. Whether he actually gets there in time for the various happenings depends on whether I feel like bringing him in or not, but still there should be a note or something that somebody called him.
