Hugpile meme!

We all love our characters, even if we sometimes take a great deal of glee in dropping small mountains on them. Thus this meme, where they can hugpile and cuddle to their hearts' content.

You are in a vast room that seems somehow familiar to anyone who was around for the slumber party. Things that happen over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments are available - energy drinks, Livian's candy, Roy's popcorn, and whatever else you'd like to dream up. There are even some cuddly toys left over from the slumber party and the octopus is still here.

~Rules!~ (shamelessly stolen from the sleepover meme)

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and snuggling up in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also snuggle in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a katamari ball quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

No pressure. This meme isn't expiring any time soon. Feel free to take your time!

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Other than that, HAVE FUN! |D

[Brushes candy pixels off her mouth and hands and reaches for the bowl nearby, which isn't really nearby at all, so there's a little awkward flailing. She holds the bowl up over her head, like some ancient I-O offering.]

All yours! [Anon, why are you so tall? She's getting neck-strain with you looming like that. Then again, she's got a nice view from down here.] I love the voice, by the way; I didn't know you spoke. You're always so quiet when you visit.

[...Easy enough to ignore the green program at first glance, even if it seems a little out of place. He'll just be examining the plushies projectiles that have mysteriously appeared slightly closer. Rinzler's not sure why this five-appendaged one has triangles sticking out of its head helmet, but they probably serve some purpose.

Examining... examining... okay, that green program is very definitely (if slowly) pushing the personal space bubble now. Rinzler's mask angles towards the arrival, noise ticking out flat and irritated. There's a moment to mark the outstretched hands, the strangely tentative expression, and then—

What.

There's an utterly perplexed skip of noise as Rinzler very suddenly discovers how far this local glitch extends. Immediate responses to the hold (derezz, maim, maim harder) falter uninitialized. The secondary response (shove) works well enough to gain distance, but retaliation is still stalled. A moment's headtilt. Two.

Then Rinzler gets creative.

A blur of motion, a quick (light) grab, and a somewhat more directed shove, and... well. That carefully constructed pillow-barrier of yours, Compiler? Really didn't look structurally sound.

Let's see how it does with a green glowy beta embeded in the middle.]

[Have a big warm furry paw curled around your tiny body, Trace. Giant kitty-mentors give the best hugs.]

Yori.

[A happy, rumbling purr. He's very happy to see you.]

Or do you prefer Trace, now? How have you been?

[So many new designations for old friends, it's hard to keep track. It's good to see someone familiar in any case.]

[Green for neutral was one of the few things that he had picked up on is own, and well when he saw exactly who this random program was heading towards he just watched on in detached amusement. Even if it did cause a stiffness in the neck in order to watch and stay as still as possible. As a just in case really, because Clu would erase him completely if he let someone get an attack in.

Then the hug happened, and he could only watch dumbfounded as his barrier rained down a few pieces while gaining a lit up centerpiece.]

I'm surprise you manage that long program, against the Enforcer.

[Him placing an odd plush toy on top of Kip's head is totally casual like and random. He does have to make certain the wall does not collapse on top of them all okay.]

[Yay best big kitty!]

Trace, for now.

I've been all right. Better than I was.

[Alive and between functions is better than derezzed any millicycle.]

[Success achieved! ...For about a micro. Then he's temporarily airborne.

...Well. That could've gone worse! Kip picks himself up out of the barrier shedding pillows with a rueful expression, plucks the stuffed construct off his head, and sits cross-legged where he was tossed, staring at Rinzler thoughtfully as he handles the toy.]

No hugs yet, huh? Okay.

[You are taking up bad habits from Eden, Kip. He smiles guilelessly at Compiler.]

A first step has to start somewhere.

[He holds up the toy. It is an odd multi-coloured pastel creature with a sail on its back and an identification tag labeled 'Dimetrodon'. It's oddly adorable and Eden might like it.]

May I have this one?

[Definitely better than derezzed, or function-locked for that matter. He pushes a few pillows and blankets around to make her a little nest to relax in. Always taking care of his betas - and they will always be his betas.

Now if one of the Trons would come over - maybe one of the ones in black and orange - he'd be happy as a bit in energy.]

I'm glad to hear that. The last time I saw you, or rather your counterpart, was before the MCP took over your sector. I imagine a lot more has happened since, but there's time enough to learn when I arrive.
systemtrace: (002-a little smile)

[personal profile] systemtrace 2013-02-23 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hectocycles' worth, yes. I'll tell you all about it when you're there. I suspect I still won't have much else to do.

[A pause, and a wry smile.]

Flynn made me his Tower Guardian, for a while. When I wasn't working with the others. It always felt strange, doing what I remembered you doing for so long.
firefixit: (Happy)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. Then I can meet you officially.

Anyway, you won't be the only big program there. I'm sure at least one of our Jalens will attend - I think one of them designed the rebuilt Archives, so he'll almost certainly be there.
relicguard: (Default)

[personal profile] relicguard 2013-02-23 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[You played Tower Guardian, little one? His expression all fond amusement, trying to imagine her in a form like his - which she would've been, if this had happened in his system, and if Flynn had performed the upgrades properly.]

Did you enjoy yourself, I hope?
systemtrace: (008-noncommittal)

[personal profile] systemtrace 2013-02-23 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, actually. I think I scared a poor beta or two, but it was fun.

[Alas, that would have been an upgrade she could have used. Maybe things would have turned out differently if she had.]

It's a pity that it would be a little superfluous now. Guarding was a secondary function for me, and the Towers aren't connected, I don't think.

[Chuckles again]

There's a bit of a difference between a tall program and a program like myself, little one. I don't think your Grid has experience seeing non-humanoid units. [A musing rumble.] I should like to meet a Jalen, or Jabraxas, as it may happen. Bad luck all around with the viral business, but it's good that they're being helped.

[personal profile] prototype_son 2013-02-23 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Puzzled frown.]

Is that efficient? Wouldn't reporting on a set schedule work better?

[Puzzled frown becomes fierce thinking.]

If this many programs are doing this, there must be a benefit to it.

[personal profile] relicguard 2013-02-23 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, but I believe the reconstruction program Fire just brought a tower back online. She claims it waits for me. [A prideful little smile.] I'm sure the system will find a use for it, in time. One adapts to changes as they come by the will of the Users.

[Looks down at her, sensing a measure of regret perhaps, or melancholy. What has she been doing since that time?]

You seem...directionless, Trace; is there anything I can offer that would help?
systemtrace: (008-noncommittal)

[personal profile] systemtrace 2013-02-23 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I'll visit, then. Especially if you ever decide to scare the populace and take a break.

[She helps the preening along with a little scritching.]

I'm not sure... I spent hundreds of cycles fighting, only to come here and have it all over. I can't go back to doing what I did.. and the future is full of questions I'm not sure how to ask.

I'll think of something eventually, though. I have before.
notglitching: (red - caught in reflections)

[personal profile] notglitching 2013-02-23 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Can you see the sheer volume of glower directed your way, Kip? No? Well, mask or not, it's there. Waiting.

...yeah, that'd be a no on the hugs. 8|b]
confusedloyalty: (how about...no)

[personal profile] confusedloyalty 2013-02-23 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Efficiency is not as much of a priority in certain functions for many here, and most users are anything but.

[Compiler has no idea what he is likely about to get himself into.]

There might be, however I don't know what such function it would benefit to warrant so many doing so.
firefixit: (Happy)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe not ones as big as you, but non-humanoids aren't as strange as you might think. We had a Rinzler in the form of something that he called a 'kitten' a while ago, and a puppy Ram. I actually met Rinz. [Another smile.]

The Free Grid is an adaptable place. I think you'll be okay.
firefixit: (OMU)

[personal profile] firefixit 2013-02-23 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fire's just going to sneak up behind Clu's throne so that there's minimal chance of Clu seeing her. Spotting Exim, she lowers her voice to a whisper.]

What are you doing? That's Clu! Come on, let's go before Rinzler turns up.
nothingtofret: (smile-headtilt-knowing)

[Ooo, she didn't expect him to sit! Her circuits brighten happily, stealing a handful of snacks from the bowl he now holds.]

Well that's a relief. I was worried I'd glitched again and forgotten all the times I'd heard you speak before.

[Not having further memory problems is always a reason to be perky.]

Rinzler? I'm not familiar with that name...but Ram, hm? I remember a Ram - little rascal of a beta, always bouncing around asking questions. Didn't stay in-system for long; I've always wondered what happened to him after he left.

[Have a grateful rumble, Fire, and a massive paw gently patting you on the shoulder. Very gently. Your encouragements are code-warming to an old guardian like him.]

[personal profile] prototype_son 2013-02-23 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe we should test it? Clu likes us to be thorough about things.

[Have a small program stiffly holding out his arms to you, Compiler.]
confusedloyalty: (you users confuse me)

[personal profile] confusedloyalty 2013-02-23 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[What?

No, really is this really happening? Compiler is just going to head tilt for a few moments, because seriously someone other then Clu touching him with no intent to disk touch or cause violence is not common at all. Though you did say the magic phrase. Clu would want them to have full understanding of things to better utilize them.]

That is a correct assessment.

[And have arms just as stiffly held out closing that distance between them. How long is this suppose to last again?]
