Okay, so that plot thing that's been bouncing around Plurk is going to hit the climax soon, and to help with getting everyone who wants to be involved a job in it somewhere, here is a formal planning post!

The Very Rough Outline:

So evil Mirror!Alan has been loose on the Grid for a bit, and after freaking people out at the End of Line he ran into Mirror!Rinzler and Dark!Tron and there was torturing and almost some codescrew shenanigans. Since it's a Very Bad Thing to leave a sociopathic, programming genius User with 20+ years of in-system experience running loose, the plan is to kill it with fire at the soonest opportunity. Dark!Tron, Mirror!Rinzler, and Mirror!Clu are about to go over to the Arena for an in-character planning session, but since we're all over the everywhere as far as availability and tagging and such it would be greatly appreciated if all participants make some notes here as well so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. ♥

There will be ducky-napping. Eden will be lured off by Mirror!Alan, which isn't hard to do since she's pretty much lured off by anything shiny. People around who can notice what's going on and contact Security would be greatly appreciated. No idea if there will be a ransom demand as of yet. (Though we already know it's not like Mirror!Alan would honor it lol.) Anon is currently slated for ducky-snatching and rescuing, but there's probably room for a couple more dudes if there is interest.

There will be a boss fight. So far, Dark!Tron, Mirror!Rinzler, Clu 1.0, Roy, and Livian are on tap to confront Mirror!Alan. Roy and Livian are currently slated as tank/support and the murderkitties and Clu (and whatever tank/large guns he can find) are going to be doing most of the actual hitting. Since there aren't going to be that many active players on the list so far, I think room for another couple people is doable provided everyone is free to tag when the fight log goes up.

There will be hella gridbugs. Mirror!Alan is going to be tapping directly into the Grid for power and cheating like a cheating thing as much as possible. Anon's the only one on gridbug duty at the moment-- lots of people needed here.

There will be a need for recompiling. Roy and Livian are on this team by default, and maybe Wulf? (IDK) Mirror!Clu signed on for guard duty and pinch-healing if anybody trusts him that far. There will probably be a need for more healers and guards, as there are likely to be a pile of NPCs and several wounded PCs by the end of the fight.

There will be evacuations. The goal is to get Mirror!Alan into the Outlands, but failing that at least make sure nobody gets in his way. Evac shelters will need set up, people will need moved, daring rescues of various characters will happen, orders will need yelling, etc etc. Esme's down for helping coordinate the evacuation, but she will need help desperately. Shielding evacuees from the effects of the boss fight might also be a thing if there are any User characters anyone's sitting on who would have qualms about fighting Alan.

Since the IC planning post is likely to be chaotic and will take a while to thread out, and we really want to get the logs well underway before our deadline (thanks Bright!), it's really, really important to post what you want your character to be doing here if you want them involved. (That way no matter how long IC planning takes, everyone will be able to move forward in a reasonable time-frame.)

As always, feel free to ignore if you have no interest in participating. :3 I think we might even avoid blowing up important buildings this time.

Breakdown for my characters, aside from Roy (who'll be directly involved in the bossfight):

Wulf's in for medic duty, yes. Ram (and maybe Ko?) can be in on gridbug duty wherever needed and Sentry (and Eckert?) can help with evac -- should they report to Anon and Esme?

Allon, I think, will be assumed to have evacuated; he can sit this one out. Ditto Naught. No one cares about Tesler. XDDDD

Whether or not Roy knows about it by then, Clu is going to show up with transport and explain about the Mirror!peeps in more detail on the way to the big IC meet-up. Because he wants to avoid misunderstandings with his mirror!brogram and mirror!Rinzler as much as possible.

Welp, my part in this was pretty well decided awhile back, but here it is, just for reference.

Clu1 will be part of the boss fight itself, as stated above. He will first be stealing borrowing a tank from some hapless NPC medic for use against evil!Alan. Once evil!Alan forces him to abandon said tank, he'll be using his hacking skills to throw as many hinderances/debuffs/distractions evil!Alan's way as possible until either the fight is won or evil!Alan knocks him out, whichever occours first. Exact circumstances depend on how things play out, though I'm leaning toward the latter option happening somehow.

Cantus here, meanwhile, is a civilian and will be hiding under his bed one of those evacuated from the area. He won't be playing any significant role in this.

Mirror!Rinzler will be joining the combats. Good odds on him needing repair at some point, since despite all his Clu could do, he's still a somewhat easier target just by virtue of this guy wrote him. Pre-fight code workthrough should more or less stop Alan actually overriding him, though attempts could definitely be a thing.

Where pre-fight IC plotting is concerned, he'll help plan and probably share some general tactics with the people involved. (Things like: don't stay still on coded ground, keep them away from power sources, make sure to always have at least two or three distractions in play so they can't focus and take down a target.) While his personal track record with Alan's less than great, he ran Security in his own system, and specifically trained his people to fight users (Flynn). Alan is a whole new level of scary, but this isn't a completely unfamiliar combat scenario to him.


Normal!Rinzler will be... elsewhere. Furthering Team Orange's evil plottery. Not involved in bossfight stuff, though.

Mirror!Clu is informing Dark!Tron, and later ( I assume? ) Team Protag on how to effectively combat Users. Also, not entirely sure where he would be most effective, but Mirror!Clu is NOT keen on letting his brogram ( Mirror!Rinzler ) face Alan by himself :T

Pre-fight code workthrough is still being threaded out, then with the planning, and information sharing with any, and every program who wants to know.

Um, for the bossfight itself...I suppose Mirror!Clu would be suited to medic duty as well as guard detail, but again; definitely going to be on-hand to help out Rinzler ( though trying to let Rinzler face down his User, and biggest fear and regain his honor ) as much as possible.

If needs be ( and assuming anybody would actually listen to a Clu, good alignment or no ) Mirror!Clu could be in something of a coordinator, or battlefield general roll? Not sure how well something like that would go over, given the circumstances, but figured I'd put that out there c:

ETA; Since most of the combatants may have serious moral, and/or code conflicts with actually delivering the final death blow, I'm volunteering Mirror!Clu to do the last actual act? Again, this is really just me throwing ideas out to try and make the logistics balance with various characterizations, but figured of the many characters involved, Mirror!Clu will have some serious personal crises to cope with after this whole battle goes down, but also has both the motive, and capability to actually go through with the act?

AGAIN JUST TOSSING OUT IDEAS! Please don't hesitate to shoot them down ;3;?

Okay, since apparently I am crap at this;

From what I understand, there is no central coordination right now. If this is acceptable to all then I'll go with my original plan of Mirror!Clu acting as a sort of battlefield general? Meximus Decimus to Admin!Tron's Caesar, if you need a metaphor.

The crew heading over to the Arena can meet up with Admin!Tron and get some help there. I'm sure he's probably had some reports (especially about the gridbugs!) but will want some concrete information about what is going on and why.

(Also trauma of learning his User has a dark version is very much a yes from me, but we'll see how that goes.)

If you have it under control as far as actually taking him down then Tron will probably not be needed there... in fact he'd probably want to stay out of it, considering himself a possible liability with his own code issues.

If you want Tron involved anyway, there's the bugs and the evac. They'll need leadership.

Yeah, or just plop them right down in the Arena offices. Ping Tron whenever you want him, he's not going to just be sitting up there, he'll be out with Security running damage control.

Tron will probably love a chance to take down some bugs, but he'll leave a lot of the leadership to your Tron and Anon, since they've taken over most of Security anyway.

Kato: Being a Rinzler-lookalike when wearing his Hornet gear (including being able to duel-wield his and Britt's disks), and saddled with Bruce Lee's fighting skills, Kato is available for the boss fight, if Team Protagonist needs a distraction or a fighter whose code hasn't been programmed/fiddled with by a User.

However, if it's decided that too many folks are in the boss fight as is, Kato will be on joint evacuation/rescue/gridbug duty, protecting and rescuing evacuees.

After the fight is done, since he's an EOL employee, Kato will be on hand to help supply the recompilers with energy for their patients, which is probably what Eckert will be doing (unless I'm mistaken. This plot might probably also have the unintentional side effect of outing him as an Iso, oh well.)

Britt: Evacuation duty, primarily making sure the word gets out over the communications band. He'll work with Esme to make sure this happens. Since he'll probably be handing his disk off to Kato early on, he won't be able to defend with it, but he'll have back-up weapons like a lightstaff or sonic crowd-control bombs in the event of sudden gridbug swarms.

After the fight, he'll stay on communications, since it's sure to be chaotic, and maybe work with security to make sure the channels are secure and no orange-team or evil mirrors are listening in to take advantage of the situation.

Of course, I'm not sure how to get them recruited to the planning session or their respected stations.

We could wave it and have Britt fairly highly-placed in communications. Then he'd be a natural for the meeting since he'd need to coordinate his NPCs. Might wanna ask Bright how she sees that job interview going. (And it goes without saying that what Britt knows, Kato finds out.)

Clu could easily contact Britt to explain the situation and have them brought in that way. Or alternately, Britt could hear that something was up, and contact Clu/Anon/one of the Trons to find out WTF that something is.

Then once Britt knows, he can obviously tell Kato.

Let's see, what will my gang be doing...

Eden: As mentioned above she will be lured into Evil!Alan's possession at some point after she departs from Mirror!Clu's company. While she probably has been given at least some Stranger Danger classes by this point, no-one would have thought to warn her about Alan of all people. He is one of the good people, after all. Evil!Alan won't hurt her and will do his best not to upset her, since a content captive is easier to control, but things are going to get very stressful and frightening for her when Team Protagonist shows up. I believe Crystal said that Anon might leave Eden in Krypton's care and then go back to handle the gridbug situation.

Echo: Probably won't be involved with anything because of what happened between her and Tesler. She is still in the city, I am just not entirely sure where. Either hiding out in a hole somewhere nursing her wounds or lurking in Wulf's clinic doing much the same. If more recompilers are needed she can be called on for that, or help with evac if it is needed; just let me know.

Drive: Again, another one who is not likely to be involved with the plot. He has been pretty scarce in public since Rinzler crushed his ribs for him, and his apartment is far enough away from everything that he probably won't be one of those who need to be evacuated.

Fox and Sam: Both of these guys are going to stay out of Dodge. Sam is pretty much useless at this stage and Fox is...off doing his own things in a different part of the city.

I do have a couple of Mirrors I could bring in if they are needed. I don't think that Mirror!Drive would be much use to anything (unless we need a victim for Evil!Alan to drain or something) but Mirror!Eden has been trained most of her life in the art of killing Users by her Tron. She has yet to actually kill one yet, but she managed to cut off one of their Flynn's fingers so, that's something. 8|

Right. Timing considerations aside, I will try to get back into the swing of things now. The breakdown:

Flynn will try to do damage control... MAYBE he can be used to get dark!Alan out of the city? He might not be able to do direct damage (mentally not able), so that'd give the rest of the bosses the chance to fight. Then he'll help on recompiler duty?

Quorra misses the action by being outside.

Lora might have to, unless a Lora-dark!Alan thread is wanted. (>.>) She WILL be back, after, to help Alan's friends of all flavors deal with the fallout.

Ides will be helping with the shelter setup. That can be handwaved and she'll be generally quiet about it, but.
