(Were fine all along, actually; the rule change is to also allow posts that are completely unconnected to the Free Grid, like inconsistent backstories or AUs.) Putting "When: pre-Legacy" in the post's info and marking whether you wanted the post !open or !closed would be the way to do that.
Voicetests are posts where someone wants to bring in a test character to play for an isolated post that has nothing to do with anything that's happened in the comm before. That way people can test out characters they might want to play here or elsewhere, without the pressure having to play them here long-term. Meme-style posts are stuff like "Snowy-day-in-the-User-world, everyone, what does your character do?"
