February Character Check-In

Starting a new tradition of bimonthly* character check-in posts!There will also be monthly plot-with-me posts; the first one will go up shortly, after the announcement of the upcoming event. Please keep plotting in there; this is for checking in with your character.

Grid_lined does not have an activity requirement, but does ask that you're honest with yourself about how many characters you have active. In future, characters who have not been played for the months prior to the next check-in will be considered idled out, though they can return any time the player wants to bring them back. If idled out or dropped without a specified fate, characters will ICly be transported back to their own universes by the Portal (this change will be announced in-game on around Thursday, when the Portal programs’ report of the new conditions reaches Tron City).

Checking in with Ram namesram, Ko wetherthewether, Eckert electrifaction, and Allon overarch, all of whom are active, and Wulf runsinpacks, whom I intent to pull off hiatus by the end of this week.

Sati neverminder and Roy heyalanhey are still on hiatus. Sati is mechanicking along as usual in the Tron City hangar she works at, and Roy is temporarily off-Grid. I hope to bring them back soon (and will work on their backtags after the week's rush of new stuff), but they might idle out, so that's their status for now.

Checking in with a status update on my bundle of characters.
- Ram (ram_xr71): wrapping the thread involving Ram's future self and pulling that version off the Grid. His present self will remain on-grid for a few more threads, but will soon be returned to his world in order to focus on his fic universe. Status: active, but moving towards hiatus, hopefully by March.

- Ossa (nothingtofret): Wrapping threads, with only a couple more planned in order to wrap up personal plotlines such as repairing her memory degradation. After which, she will return to being an NPC at the EoL unless specifically asked for in a thread. Status: active, but moving towards hiatus, hopefully by March.

- Owen (older_wiser): hiatus. His only thread, shenanigans with the future Ram, is being wrapped.

Dumont (relicguard): slated for entry in the future, but considered on hiatus for now until I find more time/stability for him.

- Turing (cyphercode): hiatus. Poor Turing, we never knew thee in the first place.

Kip (lunarwatch), Kato and Britt (letsbebadguys) are active, but currently trying to catch up or wrap older threads and plots before starting new ones.

Slightly provisional given the fact Team Orange is up in the air:

Tron (ja307020) and his Siren doppelganger (sirendotexe) will be sticking out the next couple months on active status. I'll figure out what to do with the couple of remaining active threads they have in a bit-- I might be asking for wrap/amnesty on the open ones just to start clean.

Trace (systemtrace) may remain as my third character, though if Rinzler is leaving the game she will be running off to program!Vegas with him and leaving her cache of toys and intelligence behind for Yori. There are lots of bombs in it.

Anon (expect_me) will be zapping out via Portal as he'd be redundant with Tron about and active. Presumably he will go find his buddies and play shinigami or something in another world.

Esme (noprincecharming) will be retiring back to named NPC status as local admin of Bostrum Colony. She's a bossy and perfectionistic tiny dictator, but she works alongside her people and actually accepts criticism should anyone want to move to the colony.

Livian (butterfly_fx) is going home via Portal and getting married to that one awkward ISO/virus dude. She leaves behind a research hospital capable of handling high-level viruses (and the ERV matrices for dealing with iterations of Abraxas), partially completed specs for an I/O tower designed to work with cell phones should someone want to pick that innovation back up, and a whole bunch of random virus toys.

Giles got quietly dropped ages ago. Presumably he's either zapped away or is stewing in some corner doing the absolute minimum to still get power rations, and honestly he's such a jerk nobody cares.

Spark(program_spark) checking in. As my only character, she should end up pretty active. She's attempting(with varying degrees of success) to get over her aversion to crowds.

Quietly dropped my others some time ago

I will mostly be attempting to back tag when I can with my 3 dudes. But after that, I am uncertain where they should go for the future (or what they've been doing for months now).

Faux (ranoutofbuts): Still my main, right now I am backtagging so I can get into new stuff. He will be played.

David the datawraith (mookinasuit): No idea with him. I like him but he is hard to play with cause nobody tends to want to put charas into a potentially violent conflict each thread he has (though he has been better, and with the new changes to death...). All the characters he could backtag have been dropped. Honestly I am not sure if I will play him just yet, unless anyone wants to really help him get out of a rut. so a maybe to active, but most likely hiatus. He'll just be being skulking around, being a pariah to security on occasion and a rumour for gossip on the grid.

buff!Tron (buffer_this_system): Has a potential backtag but I am not certain he will be played these 2 months either. So hiatus for him for new stuff (will backtag if wanted) And he will be just doing security stuff.

1st_program - Thela, the translator
Most often seen in the park or at the edge of the outlands, tending to the bit-swarms there. She does have an ad in the public info stations/hubs/consoles offering translation services along with her contact info.

boomersecurity - Boomer, neighborhood watch
Usually just doing his normal rounds through his (as yet undefined) neighborhood and outlying areas. Always good for finding stray bits or lost newbies and relocating them somewhere safe.

dollyoftheeol - Dolly, EoL waitress extraordinaire
Lives in the EoL tower, usually to be found in the club itself and on rare occasions, outside.

dualtrainers - Dex & Sin, arena trainers
Living in (or near) the arena, much like the sirens only not entirely. Always available for training whether or not the trainee is security or intends to compete in the games.
These guys are the ones most likely to be added to the named NPC pool if they don't become active

homingpigeon - Muon, the messenger
Like Thela she has a public-accessible ad for her services (I know at one point there was talk of a courier agency/hub, but IDK if that ever materialized) and her contact info.

isogamer - Gadget, the athlete
ISO in your city, climbin' on your stuff! Being the PC of the Tron: Legacy Grid Games wii game, she has big plans of becoming the Grid Games' next champion and can often be found in the park with her hoverboard, or in still-mostly-depowered/demo'd areas of the city working on her climbing, or out in the edges of the outlands doing both.

isothereminist - Elnoi, the musician
One of the denizens of the apartments above the art gallery, she can usually be found in the gallery itself, or busking in the park, or just having a drink with friends either at the EoL or any of the other entertainment establishments in the city.

listeningiso - Hollis, the architect and retired revolutionary
He's ... around. I think he's also living in the apartments above the art gallery. I haven't done much with him because he's mostly worried about his friends still. He may move out to the new Bostrum colony.

quorrious - Quorra
Canon-compliant Quorra, post-canon, has been off the Grid for a while helping Sam rebuild their grid. She comes back now and again to check up on things, namely: tr0nz1er - Tronzler, former hero, former murdercat, current lurker.
He's one I need to get out more, because he's still in limbo as to who he wants to be. He's the one with the dark-purple circuits (not flaming porno purple, more bruise-purple) and he usually stays away from populated areas because he knows how programs will react to Yet Another Rinzler™ and he knows that he's not Tron anymore, even though he's not really Rinzler either.
He tends to lurk around the Arcade facade to keep track of incoming Users.

unpurged - Quorra again, only from an alternate system
The newest of my group, still learning him out a little. He's from a version that's 98% genderflipped, same story, different version. After the archives-reopening party he probably returned to his home system for a while, not sure if he's returned yet or not.

wasmarvsidea - Sam, also from an alternate system
Not the same one as the above Quorra, since Samantha is the only one in her system who's a different gender - again, same story, different version. She's been off the Grid for a while and rebuilding/handling things on her own Grid, but she will undoubtedly return.

This is, undoubtedly, a lot of people for one person to handle, and I know it. Ideally I would like to have them all active again, and will be using this first month (or two) to suss out who's consistently loud and who can fade into the background or go home for a while.

Mirror!Jabraxas (fractured_mirror), can be considered hiatused until further notice due to all of his main tagging partners being out of commission for the present. Though if anybody wants him for stuff, just let me know. He'll be spending his time lurking around the virus bunker like a 7-foot creeper in the meantime. X3

Also have taken over the playing of G_L's Radia under the new account 1st_from_the_sea. Still the same Radia with the same CR (with the previous player's permission), just a new account. Will be debuting her under my munship at the party if the threads ever progress that far, or if not, will just toss up an open post for her a little later.

Drive (updateit) is leaving the game, at least for the foreseeable future. A note has or will be left for his friends and coworkers to let them know where he has gone and why so that they don't put together a search party to find him or worry about his absence.

Eden (anewbeginning) is staying, and it's pretty much business as usual on her end. Learning new things, getting into trouble, cuddling up to her friends, making new ones, etc.

Fox (digitaltrickster) and the Sirens Jade and Lazuli (ornamental) are busy with preparations for the opening of the Waves. They will mostly be hanging around in the background but are available for threading if anyone wants to play with them.

Echo (thingreenline) and the Grid animals (neonjungle) are still slated to be brought in, but I'm not 100% sure when. With Echo it is just a matter of getting her intro post worded the way I wanted; in the case of the animals it is a matter of figuring out how to bring them in.

Dropping my only active here. Compiler is going to get slingshot out of the grid, back to his world or somewhere else is up to the imagination. This takes me out of the game fully.
