ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

OMG IT'S A SLUMBER PARTY MEME.

You are in a vast room, vast enough so that what happens over here won't necessarily disturb what's happening over there, with a couple of semi-screened areas for semi-privacy and all the pillows and blankets and soft (or bouncy) sleeping surfaces you could ever want. Refreshments and entertainments provided by your dear friends at End of Line and Alan's popcorn machine. A movie screen or two. Stuffed animals (what is that one with all the tentacles anyway?). Your choice of sleepwear. Whatever else you'd take with you to a slumber party. And you get to share all of this with everyone else on the Grid.

Clearly this will be the best night EVER.

~Rules!~

When starting a thread, put what you're doing, who's involved, and any warnings in the subject line (e.g. 'Pillow fortress || OTA || tooth-rotting fluff'.) Also use the subject line in case a thread develops in such a way that new warnings are needed.

Within an open-to-all context, threadjacking and multiplayer threads are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.~~ Threads locked to a few characters are allowed too.

Continuity is variable, and likely unique to each thread. What happens in-meme stays in-meme unless you want it to apply somewhere else, and falling asleep in the Rinzlerpile doesn't mean you can't also fall asleep in the Userpile somewhere else.

This meme is safe. Like, really safe. Highest level of physical harm that can happen in this area is shoving someone or getting whacked with a pillow; anyone who attempts harmful physical contact (including unwanted disc meddling, I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, CLU~) is quantum-teleported out of reach before the harm can happen, ~as many times as it takes~ for the message to sink in, and everyone goes in fully aware of this. Viruses and glitches are contained in a hamster ball quantum sphere which suppresses their infectious capabilities; such spheres can merge with other spheres, and non-viruses can go in and out of them at will (and only perceive a mild static sensation if a virus tries to infect them).

Which makes this a good place to thread with folks your characters don't often get an IC chance to thread with.

No pressure. This meme isn't expiring any time soon. Feel free to take your time!

Of course common rp courtesy applies here -- no godmodding, be mindful of one anothers' comfort levels, warn as needed, ask if uncertain of something, etc. Which we all do because we're awesome.~~

Other than that, HAVE FUN! |D /turns off notifs and waits for the tide to roll in<3

"System co-admin, these days," he agreed. "Jalen covers for me when I'm Earth-side. I'm also CEO of Encom since Flynn retired, and some things can't be handled from the Grid."

He offered a tired shrug. "I don't know all the differences, but they must have started early. Encom went public with the laser in the late eighties in my world, and there's massive traffic between Earth and all the various systems by this point, whatever company built them. But there aren't many Earth-born on the Free Grid, even now. After what he did to the Isos--"

Clu broke off, shook his head, tried to refocus. Not the place or time.

"I'm not much like him, anymore, no."

"It sounds amazing," Livian said, a look of wide-eyed wonder on her face as Clu described his home. "The Singularity happening in the eighties? Crazy."

She frowned as he continued on, and finally leaned in to hug him. He looked like he needed it.

"My dad likes to say that we become our choices. You chose differently," she said firmly.

((The Singularity is a thing.))

Kade nodded, already prodding at the device's controls to see if he could make it work. "A User device, huh? Lemme see... I'm good at these things." Glancing over at the other program, he flashed him a quick smile. "Name's Kade, by the way. Hi. Don't think we've met."

Focusing his attention back on the dispenser, he tapped a few more buttons, accessing the code. "Now we're talking... here we go." Grinning, he flicked at it again, and suddenly, the machine whirred to life, ejecting small, white, fluffy pieces of... something. "Whoa!"
annualprank: (welp that was fun)

"Whoops, sorry guys!" Kade laughed, seeing the few true Bits go buzzing away. Poking his head over the side of the pile, he spotted the other program nearby. "Didn't know they were in there," he said with a grin, waving in apology.

There was a soft laugh, "I apologize, I was talking to them, not to you." They were making a second run from where they'd initially scattered, zipping around Kade, still buzzing unhappily amongst themselves.

Though as he was done flailing, they settled again, here and there in the pile as they had been, which caused Thela to smile, shaking her head, "I guess that means you're alright then. I'm Thela, and you've just met the swarm."

"Nice to finally meet you," Clu said. "I met your friend, Trillian, just after he rerezzed, and he told me about you."

He paused. "I'm Clu, by the way, though not the one you know," he said after a moment. "I'm the original Clu; an old hacking program of Flynn's."

Clu returned the gesture, nodding to his brother. "I haven't met him yet," he said, "but you're right; I would like to see those vids. I haven't really had access to much data on things outside the System, and some of what I do have, I don't understand."

"In fact, I'm not even certain I understand what 'Earth' is, aside from it being another name for the User world, obviously," he said. "A User I met named LeeStetson tried to explain to me about Earth and 'the moon' and how the fact that Users had been able to get to this 'moon' was considered to be a major accomplishment, but I still don't quite understand it." He chuckled slightly and rubbed the back of his head a bit sheepishly. "I think him trying to make it less confusing for me only ended up making it more confusing, in the end. But we did learn a bit about the history of each other's worlds, which was interesting."

"Yori!" Lizor recognizd the voice and could place the energy signature now. He hadn't seen his friend since he saw her at the site of the building bombsite. He had been worried about her since he had heard nothing since.

Hearing the smile in her voice, Lizor held out a hand in invitation for a friendly handhold for contact. He had missed her. He offered his own hesitant though visible smile, eyes narrowing.

"It is good to see....ah hear you are functioning well. I had been concerned about you. " he ducked his chin but was still smiling a little. "I missed you. I am glad you are here. Enjoying yourself I hope?"

Lizor was quiet a moment while he puzzled over that for a few moments with a small frown of confusion. No he wasn't offended. Just curious. They weren't actual people on a vidscreen interface? It came to him then. "Like a training simulation?" he mused. "At the arena there are training rooms where you can utilize training simulations for various forms of combat, games or simply target practice." Though those were actually played and not done so sitting and staring at a screen.

All the pillow pile!

[personal profile] krypticfactor 2012-02-06 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Krypton had intended to go flop down next to Kade, but those little Bit pillows were far too enticing. Collecting an armful of them, he grabbed a big pillow and set it up so that it was acting like a padded wall between him and the dent in the cushions that was Kade.

"Hey, Kade?"
krypticfactor: (Huh)

[personal profile] krypticfactor 2012-02-06 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure." Krypton took a chair, staring up in wonder at the projection. The precis on the Grid and how it fitted into the User world was astonishing. After that, simple rotating objects held together by weak forces was no great stretch.

Until the sphere started to shrink. And shrink, and join others, until they too vanished . . .

"A bit like that, yeah." Sam nodded. "Except there's not much movement involved. There's a handheld controller that...well...controls your guy."

"So many things here are so different from what I used to know." It's a bit overwhelming sometimes. "I will love to see your gallery and help you out."

That earned him another smile as she capped the nail polish, "Just let that dry, and I always say the more people around the gallery the better."

One healing papa with a bowl of popcorn and music player in ears versus two pets. The odds were not good for the former opposed to the latter set as Roy felt Rinz rush underneath him. Seeing the Ram pup was far too late and soon, the area encircling Roy was in an all too brief popcorn shower.

"OW."

New thread cuz of squishiness! Possible adult content ahead...

[personal profile] disc_warrior 2012-02-07 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
((ooc: cuz knowing Li is a closet perv, tipsy, in a good mood with his lover...its an oncoming train wreck. But a fantastically hilarious and fun one!!))

Lizor got this squinty eyed devious look on his face. That was the only warning Aadi received. Later he would have no idea what possessed him. Maybe it was the drinks - but he wasn't complaining.

Suddenly he surged up beneath the ISO, grabbing her and flipping her over effortlessly onto her back against the pillows. Pouncing on top of her before she could get up with a bark of laughter. With his hips between her thighs he bent down over her while bracing himself on his arms. Keeping his lips close to her skin, he kissed before sliding the tip of his tongue along her throat to beneath her ear, following an energy line.

Suckling a sensitive point just beneath and behind her ear he uttered a soft 'mmmm'. Who says you aren't edible? You are positively delicious! he practically purred in her mind. Just for laughs to see what her reaction would be, he activated a system he didn't use that often. But she would definitely feel considering the press of his hips. He made a noise that was suspiciously like a giggle in her ear quite shamelessly while uttering a phrase he didn't know the origin of but he felt it fit.

"Tag. You're it."

Lizor tilted his head, turning his face towards Sam's voice with a bemused smirk.

"A....controller? To remotely operate your ah...player?" Now that was a bizzare concept. It almost made him laugh. He quietly blamed it on the energy he drank."Well I understood that these games were played on a vidscreen interface....I just did not realize...." he trailed off a little.

"Are all User games this way? Where you sit and use a....a controller?" He was very curious and highly amused.

[personal profile] isoartist 2012-02-07 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
There was a bright laugh of her own as she was tumbled, she hadn't been expecting it, mostly because he'd only rarely done that kind of thing before and not at all that she could remember since they'd found each other again.

She hardly minded the move, however, mostly because she had asked for it, in not as many words, and she made a quiet, content sound in the back of her throat at the nuzzling, keeping one leg hooked up against his hip, not about to let him go so easily now that she had him.

The next sound was almost a purr as she draped her arms over his shoulders, letting her head tilt to give him just a little more space to continue what he was doing.

We love all the-threadjack. Roy- papa ♥♥♥

[personal profile] pupgram 2012-02-07 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oops, he didn't mean to do that. Ram stop chasing the kitty and rushes to Roy's side.

"Sorry Roy-1. Are you okay?"

...what's are those things in the floor? they smell good.

Lizor chuckled audibly against the ISO's throat. I could do this to you all over.. His voice inside her processes was warm and teasing. He probably could too. He just couldn't remember if he -had- before. He most certainly haven't since they had been together again. In fact this all was so surreal.

Making his way slowly across so that he could give her the same treatment on her other side, one of his hands slid up to curl againt her cheek. Thumb brushing by her lips to orient himself. He particularly liked that her leg hooked against his hip -so he kept his lower systems active though still contained in his clothing. He could all ready tell the circuitry sensitivity had gone up considerably down there. Besides - he was very happy and content to take his time for once. Trying to bait Aadi to retaliate was fun!

Lifting his head he laughed breathlessly with a grin, soft dark hair curtaining her face as he ducked to brush her lips teasingly with his. Fingers caressing her cheek.

"I'm sorry to have worried you. It's all been very busy. I hope we can catch up soon."

She considered for a moment, examining definitions, but finally admitted, "It's nice here. Less risk. I don't want to let anyone take advantage of the place--but I am enjoying it." A softer smile, and she slipped her hand into his and squeezed briefly.

"As I understand things, our Earth is very unlike yours by now." He blinked, startled, at the impulsive hug, but smiled and patted her shoulder gently in thanks.

Thinking of his alternate never failed to darken his mood. "It's a wise saying, that. I'm just--not sure our choices were ever presented the same way. If I'd been that desperate, and had no outside resources...I don't know what I would have chosen."

Except that he had much too vivid an example.

(Tron-wise, the MCP in '82 or before was closest to being such a thing. Which is rather fascinating.)

"This should definitely help you sort that out," Clu said, with a grin. "It's meant for programs who've never left their system yet, but still need a grasp on how things work on a wider scale. Why don't you come join Krypton? He's an encryption specialist. You'd probably have plenty to talk about besides the vids."
coadminclu: (fancy)

[personal profile] coadminclu 2012-02-07 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The vid projection was very familiar to Clu by now, its shock value a little lessened. Seeing Krypton's expression made it all brand new.

He held his tongue, unwilling to disrupt the hush of the dark void.

They wouldn't have been able to manage a projection like this in the Free Grid, not without considerable upgrades. Clu was grateful for the chance to see the full effect.

The glitter of the galaxy spun dizzyingly, and Clu hung on to his own seat, reminded again that familiarity didn't make it any less mind-blowing.

There would probably be code-born out there someday, too. Not all the technology was in place yet, but stubborn was too small a description.
